Paper Train is a traffic game that places you in the role of a railroad operator. This train game features simple mouse controls, beautifully-drawn graphics, and thirty levels to complete.

The goal of Paper Train is to safely guide trains off of the stage. Each level of this train game has a quota of trains that must reach their destinations safely; once the quota is met, you will advance to the next level. If there is a single crash, then you will fail the level and have to start it over from the beginning. This version of Paper Train does not save your progress, but if you buy the full version, you will be able to play the thirty levels in any order that you choose.

Paper Train uses a mouse-only control scheme. Click on colored squares to control the flow of traffic. Trains move automatically in this train game; you only control traffic signals and track switches. Click on green squares to turn them red and stop the flow of traffic on a track. Click on red squares to turn them green and start the flow of traffic on a track. Blue squares serve as track switches; click them to divert the flow of traffic to different tracks. Each time that you click, ten points will be deducted from your score, so try to minimize the number of clicks that you use!

Aside from minimizing your clicks, there is not much that you can do to improve your score in this train game. You can improve your score by completing each level as quickly as possible, but there is no way to increase the movement speed of trains. Also, it is best to take a slow, steady approach to levels. It may be tempting to leave all of the lights green to allow trains to pass over the track, but doing so will ensure collisions, resulting in failure. Focus on completing the level first before you try to improve your time.

Paper Train is a great puzzle game that will test players' time management skills. Unfortunately, you will have to complete this version of the train game in one sitting unless you are willing to fork over $6.99 for the full version!
